Partnership with National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET)
Dear Guild member,
We are pleased to announce that today, in a partnership with the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET), our sister union in the Communications Workers of America, and Philadelphia Media Network, 16 Guild members will be trained to use Final Cut Pro for digital video editing. The reporters and photographers were selected by managers at the Inquirer and Daily News to learn the video technology in a week-long course. Leading the course is James Talluto who brings over 27 years of training and broadcast skills from the media communications industry. Jim joined CBS in 1983 and served as an editor for sports, news, syndicated news, and special events. The free classes have received rave reviews from Guild members in New York, and Boston, and we are thankful to the Newspaper Guild and CWA international unions for providing our members this important training.
In Unity,
Dan Gross, President
Bill Ross, Executive Director, and the Executive Board of The Newspaper Guild/CWA Local 38010
