DFM MANAGEMENT FAILS TO PRESENT WAGE COUNTERPROPOSAL TO UNIONS
DENVER – After committing in advance to present its wage counterproposal today, DFM management showed up empty-handed, failing to make any proposal to a joint committee representing 13 DFM bargaining units.
The meeting on Friday was the second between management and the 13 unions since negotiations opened in March. It’s part of a joint wage re-opener negotiated in 2016, when the unions and management reached a settlement covering all of the bargaining units.
In March, unions proposed an across-the-board increase of $1 per hour for all employees in each of the bargaining units.
While DFM began its new fiscal year on July 1 and has approved its budget, management said it needs additional time before making its proposal.
Representatives of the 13 bargaining units that are part of the DFM Caucus will issue a longer joint statement about today’s talks on Monday, July 17.
