ANSWERS TO YOUR TELADOC QUESTIONS

Guild members,

The great things about Teladoc are the ease in which to activate an account and, of course, how to use it. Teladoc is provided to all full and part-time members and their family members.

QUESTION: WHICH ACCOUNT DO I USE?

NewsGuild has two Teladoc accounts:

  1. NewsGuild Teamsters Local 830. This account is for all members who have health coverage through Teamsters Local 830.
  2. NewsGuild of Philadelphia. This account is for all members who have opted out of health coverage and/or are not eligible for health care coverage.

QUESTION; HOW DO I ACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT?

Your account can be activated over the phone or online.

To activate an account by calling 1-800-835-2362 members will be asked to provide:

  1. First and Last Name
  2. Name of Account: If you have health coverage through Teamsters Local 830 – account is “NewsGuild Teamsters Local 830”, OR if you opted out or are not eligible for health care coverage – account is “NewsGuild
    of Philadelphia”
  3. Email Address
  4. Home Address
  5. Phone Number (Cell Phone is Recommended – For the Doctor to Return Your Call)
  6. Date of Birth
  7. Brief medical history:
  1. Current Prescription Names and Dosages
  2. Name and Phone # of Your Primary Care Physician (if you have one, not required) and Pharmacy
  3. Brief overview of Family History of Medical Conditions (similar to the clip board information you would fill out at your doctor’s office).
  • You can then add dependents.

To activate an account online, simply visit
https://member.teladoc.com/registrations . Follow the prompts. You will be asked to enter the following information:

  1. First and Last Name (Must match record with the NewsGuild)
  2. Email Address
  3. Phone Number (Cell Phone is Recommended – For the Doctor to Return Your Call)
  4. Date of Birth
  5. Do you have a username: Select “No” (You will be asked to crease a username and password later)
  6. Select “My Employer or Insurance Provider Gives Me Access” (In this case, the NewsGuild is your provider).
  7. In box below type:

NewsGuild Teamsters Local 830 – IF you have health coverage through Teamsters Local 830

OR

NewsGuild of Philadelphia – IF you have opted out of health coverage and/or are not eligible for heath care coverage.

  1. Click continue to go to the next page.
  2. Scroll down and create a username and password
  3. Check off the three boxes at the bottom and sign your digital signature and click “finish”.
  4. Click “Add Medical History” and answer a few brief questions. (This step required to have a consultation).
  5. Lastly, click the Teladoc logo in the top left to take you have to the “Overview” dashboard. You can add dependents under the “My Family” tab or by calling 1-800-835-2361.

IF I AM NOT FEELING WELL, CAN I CALL TELADOC IF I HAVEN’T ACTIVATED MY ACCOUNT YET?

Yes, call 1-800-835-2362 to request a consultation. You will be asked to provide your name, date of birth and the account you are covered under. Either NewsGuild Teamsters Local 830 OR NewsGuild of Philadelphia. You can further activate
your account at that time.
